Doctoral Students

Moiz Tariq joined our research group in Fall 2024. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Peshawar, Pakistan, and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. Professionally, Moiz has gained diverse experience, ranging from Junior Structural Engineer at Rise Tech Engineers to Senior Structural Design Engineer at Merivale Design Group in the UK. His research focuses on using advanced AI techniques for structural response estimation under natural hazard impacts. 

Muhammad Ali

Muhammad joined our group in Fall 2022. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Beirut Arab University, Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut, and Master of Business Administration from the Lebanese American University. Muhammad’s prior research background involves finite element modeling, data analytics, experimental work, and steel and concrete structures. Muhammad’s Ph.D. research focus on probabilistic risk and resilience assessment of infrastructure systems. During his spare time, he likes practicing martial arts, go hiking, and eating sweets.

Alireza Ghavidel

Alireza joined our group in Fall 2021. He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Sistan and Baluchestan in Iran, with a prior research background in structural reliability, finite element modeling, and concrete structures. Alireza's Ph.D. research focus is on AI-enabled risk-based bridge asset management. During his spare time, he likes listening to music, watching TV, football, and basketball.
